In writing for Windhorse, Larry has shifted the balance more toward notation, with improvisation growing organically out of the compositions. The expanded group, with its new blend of instruments, has a very rich sound. The players are accomplished bandleaders, composers, and international performers. Many of them have roots in the Creative Music Studio, and the wide-open musical philosophy that it embodied.
